Description

Working with molten glass is so exciting. The play of temperature, viscosity, and the possible color changes due to the high temperatures are so much fun to play with. I love opening my kiln on a morning to see how things have flowed and fired together. It is like Christmas morning...
Offered is a trivet of mainly red and green glasses that have been allowed to flow together in to a square about 8 inches on a side. After firing for a 12 hour cycle including annealing, the piece is then edge finished by grinding. a second multi-hour firing allows the edges to flow out and smooth. Added feet complete the piece.
Some of the components were transparent so the piece allows some light to come through when help up to a window or light.
This size is good for a hot plate, a snack presentation, for a potted plant, or just to please the eye. No two glass flows are ever identical so you know you will be giving a uniquely designed gift.
