Our tags are cut from C-260 brass and sealed with an industrial clear lacquer made for protecting outdoor metals against moisture, wear and UV rays. This will provide good protection, but it is not eternal. If the tag rubs against another tag, the coating will eventually wear off and you will notice a change in the patina of that area. And like all unprotected metal, the area will then be susceptible to corrosion from pool chlorine, and salt water to a lesser extent. This of course depends on the amount of time exposed and whether or not you rinse the tag after exposure. It wouldn't hurt to periodically buff the tag and re-seal with a very light clear spray.

The front of the star has space for your dog's name under the word "Deputy". The back has room for up to three lines of text. As a bonus you can add a horseshoe, star or six-guns under your information.

Two stainless steel split rings are included. The small ring attached to the tag hangs on the larger ring, enabling the tag to face forward.

Great quality and looks even better in person - pictures don’t do it justice. Very helpful customer service and quick shipping for a custom made item.
