This is a 1930's Vintage Rex Fifth Avenue "Reverie" "Flapjack" or "Pancake" powder and mirror Compact.

It's nickname describing it's over sized "4-9/16" diameter.

It was manufactured during World War II when most metals were reserved for the war effort. Rex developed this compact with a non-metallic case and a non-silk vinyl screen.

It has a pretty floral patterned lid with a solid cream colored bottom.

The compact is in good used vintage condition, and still has the original sifter net inside.

The mirror has hazing, and veining, but is still intact, with no chips or cracks.

The hinge and clasp are in perfect working order.

The exterior of the compact is in very good condition, but the bottom of the compact does have some slight staining that can be viewed in the last photo.

This is an unusual piece, and would make a lovely addition to your dresser or vanity.
