These incredible vintage buttons could also be used as beads. They are a milk white glass, very china-like, to which multicolored speckles have been added. Every single button is unique. They have lovely smooth domes and flat backs in which a metal shank has been embedded. And just like beads with embedded wires, these shanks are loops that can be opened and closed. There is variable, but generally a fair amount of oxidation to the loops. These buttons measure 1/2 inch in diameter, about 13mm. They were made in occupied Japan. You will receive 6 buttons.

Since Japan was occupied from 1945 until April 1952, the date of manufacture of these buttons is somewhere in that range.
