Description

12 Chunks of White Scottish Sea glass all found on a beach in the East Coast of Scotland.

These sizeable nuggets are beautifully rounded and very tactile to handle. Handpicked for size, they would make lovely pendants. Most are jewellery quality, only a few minor nics on one or two. The last image shows one to the far right has a yellow rust line on it.

Seaham is famous today for its sea glass found many years after the decline of its bottleworks in 1921. Since the early 1850's the glasshouses dumped their waste glass over the cliffs into the North Sea. These discarded, broken pieces of glass have been naturally surf tumbled & worn smooth in the sea & rocks, some for as long as 100 years, making them much sought after & highly treasured sea glass gems.

These are becoming more & more rare and difficult to find as the longer they are tumbled & worn away in the sea the smaller & smaller they become, eventually disappearing forever.

These are the actual pieces you will receive.

The ruler is in imperial inches. The 5 pence coin used for scale is 18mm/0.7 inch, the same size in diameter as the US dime.

All my treasures have been gently washed and will be carefully packaged for the journey ahead.

Many thanks for your interest...please keep looking for more of my lovely beach treasures which are added regularly.
