I love frit a LOT. Frit is what you get when you grind glass into small pieces, and it is easy to create beautiful color mixes. This set uses frit colors blended by Christina at Feng Frit Factory. I then used clear glass to encase the frit layer to protect and magnify the effect. I hope you like it as much as I do.

This is a set of ten lampwork beads with turquoise and accents of lime and navy blue encased with a thick, magnifying layer of clear glass. You can use these beads as spacers, or as beautiful art glass in their own right.

If you love these beads, but aren't sure what you can make with them, find some inspiration in my Lampwork Jewelry board on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/autevdesigns/lampwork-jewelry/

Thanks for stopping by!

GLASS COLORS: turquoise, transparent and opaque blues in light and dark tones with soothing honeydew accents.

BEAD SIZE (hole-to-hole): 7-8.5mm (~ 1/3")

MANDREL SIZE: 3/32" (~2.5mm)

GLASS TYPE: Varied COE96 including Reichenbach, Zimmerman, Kugler, and/or Gaffer glass.

Lampwork beads are handmade glass art created by artists using a special large torch and rods of colored glass. It's a form of functional glass art, in the same tradition as furnace-made handblown glass vessels. They are one part of the growing Art Bead movement.

These beads were hand crafted by me, Julie Schmidt Bowen of Autochthonous Evolved, with a duel-fuel National torch in my Saint Paul, MN studio. I am a Self Represententing Artist: Membership Number S36
