I'd like to start by saying that I've included improvements on the new stock of amps. I've upgraded the electronics to include the LM386-3 (.75W nominal) that has increased power output per the datasheet. I have also improved the volume potentiometer (control) to have linear operation. The speaker is now 4 inches instead of 2. Finally, the new style of cigar box amps are in sturdy wooden boxes.

This is a hand made guitar amp that uses the simple LM386 circuit that is featured by Make magazine. The Cigar Box amp comes assembled and ready to play once a battery is inserted and a guitar is plugged in. The guitar and cable are not included. If you have any questions please ask me. Even after you receive your amp, I will answer any questions and provide support for this amp. If you want to make modifications, I'll always be available for assistance.

The input jack is a stereo Switchcraft 1/4" jack. The speaker is a 4", 8 ohm speaker. The input jack acts as the power switch. When you plug your guitar cable in, the 5mm LED signifies that the amp is on. There is also a DC jack for using a 9 volt voltage supply. Generalguitargadgets.com sells an effects pedal voltage adapter for $11. It is not included with this item. The voltage source should be negative tip. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask me.

The cigar box that this amp is built in is a Dunhill. Opening the lid changes the tone of the amp.

This amp is also the perfect companion for your cigar box guitar.

The dimensions of this amp are about 4 7/8"W x 6 3/4"H x 3 7/8"D
Voltage: 9 volt battery or 9V adapter (not included)
Output power: .75W (according to the LM386-1 datasheet)
