Description

Suki’s Dress is a semi-loose fit, flattering on just about every body type. A classic A line shift shape with no detailing and a de-emphasised waist this dress will rival your favourite pair of jeans for versatility and comfort.

The set sleeves show of the line of your shoulders beautifully, whilst the high neck sits just a cross the collar bones.

She can be made to suit any occasion: denim for a trip about town, stretch suiting for work, linen for a tropical jaunt, and merino knit over boots in winter. You could even so a sheer version to go over a slip for a special occasion.

With a variation to suit every shape and fabric choice this staple pattern will be help you to create your perfect wardrobe.

Easy construction and minimal detailing make this dress the perfect project for the beginner sewer.

This dress is a semi-loose a line fit, designed to have a little ease and movement. If you want a slimmer fit take note of your measurements and choose a size with less room. Consider sizing down for knit fabrics. The pattern is nested so you can slope between sizes if need be, the measurements relate to the shift shape. There is much more room in the hips for the skirted shape. If you are sewing with knit fabrics you will not need an overlocker to sew this garment, but you will need a walking foot for your sewing machine. If you have never sewed with a jersey or knit fabric before we highly recommend you read the sewing with knits tutorial at sewknitlove.co/tutorials.

Consider your fabric when choosing facings, trimmings, and pocket fabric: use more mobile fabrics for pockets in denim dresses, lawn weight bias tape for drapey fabrics, for example.

You will recieve:

+ illustrated instruction booklet

+ large format, single page pattern to take to your local copy shop on A0 pages

+ multi-page pattern set on A4 and US pages for printing at home.

FAQs

It is hard to choose what size to make. We do our best to explain what sizes our models are wearing, how they fit, and the length of each garment. Chest sizes given are the upper limit for the fit of the garment and based on Australian sizing charts.

Our sizing is very similar to Target and Australian brand Cotton On, and a smidge smaller than Bonds and Pumpkin Patch.

Knit fabrics and knitted garments have more forgiveness in their sizing than woven fabric patterns because of the stretch involved.
We do offer seller rights, but we need to have a chat about it first. We like to make sure that there is only one seller for a design in any given area, and we like to have a great relationship with our makers. If you’d like to join our growing group of greatness, fill in the form found on our contact page at www.evieandessie.com and we’ll be in touch.
Yes, that’s the plan! We do have some designs cooking away. If you’d like to be notified when they are ready you can sign up to our mailing list on our website or favourite our store on Etsy. If there’s anything in particular you’d like to see, just shoot us a convo.
