Description

Bohemian blue art glass bowl designed by Petr Hora.

This decorative, retro bowl was produced at the Skrdlovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia.

It has an inner blue core, cased in a thin layer of topaz glass and then a thick layer of clear glass. It has internal white and pink web decoration and bubbles.

The vase version is referenced in Mark Hill's book 'Sklo' on page 49 where it states:

"This vase sold extremely well during the 1980s, with the applied and melted-in pink and white web-like design also being produced on cylindrical and spherical forms in different sizes. It was also produced with a red-pink body colour with a white web design, which was a fashionable colour combination at the time. The web-like design is unique on each example as it was applied by hand. Petr Hora (b.1949) produced designs for Skrdlovice during the mid-1970s and was a director there from 1987-91 during which time he produced his best-selling and most popular designs."

The bowl is:

7cm (3 inches) high;
