When I asked an artist friend of mine what I should felt for Halloween, she said "headless horseman." "Oooooooo" I thought... I could see it clearly in my mind but was not sure how to make it come to be.

My most ambitious needle felted piece to date this dark figure and his glowing horse are felted onto a pose-able wire armature for endless posing possibilities. The horse stands about 8 inches at his withers and the horseman is 12 inches tall (both about 1/6 scale). Included is a stand that I made using a rustic cross cut log for the base and a cherry branch for the support. The horse can put on and off the stand and is held in place by matching felted wire that is hidden when the horseman is mounted.

The horseman is wearing a white shirt, dark tweed vest and pants, brown boots, a midnight blue riding jacket, and a dark brown tattered suede removable cape. He has a wretched pumpkin head.
