Lucent melmac dinnerware was designed by Raymond Loewy Associates in the 1950s. The shape is modern and organic, with a gracefully uneven rim, swoop oval shape, and thick base which elevates the inside bottom of the bowl from the table. This is truly high end melamine -- not a joke! It has a glossy translucent appearance that looks like opaque yellow glassware. The shapes feel just right in the hand, and are much heavier than typical melmac pieces.

This listing is for a set of 4 small dessert bowls in pale yellow that reminds me of lemon curd. Measure about 5 inches across the rim and stand just under 2 inches tall. Have molded mark on the bottom: Lucent Dinnerware By The Lucent Corp. N.Y.

All 4 bowls are in excellent condition, with no chips, stains or burn marks. They have been very gently used -- a few faint utensil marks can be seen under bright angled light.
