Having a large stash of white padres dating to the mid 1800's and another collection dating back even earlier, I decided to make a necklace using a nice toggle and genuine leather instead of imitation stuff.

I saw something similar to this design in the Sundance catalog, called the Long Padres Necklace, antique beads strung on faux leather with an inexpensive pewter toggle and silvertone beads, and priced $165.00.

My design features the same creamy white, smooth antique African trade beads, antique whitehearts (red glass around a white core)resin pretending to be amber beads. Toggle is made of bronze with a fired - on coppery finish, inspired by the sword guard of an antique Japanese samurai sword.

The two rings of whiteheart beads can be moved around or removed by sliding over the toggle. If you don't care for the 2 dangles Ill cut them off and seal the knots.
