Description

A very desirable 'Pesce' (fish) vase from the late 1960s by Aldo Londi for Bitossi.

A very simple cylindrical form with a strong lean to it, which I have seen on other Pesce vases as well, but is more pronounced on this one.

Decorated in the lovely sunny blue glaze that Bitossi was so well-known for, especially on the 'Rimini' pieces.

Sadly, this vase does has some issues - no cracks, hairlines or chips, but there are a few glaze flakes along the bottom rim (the biggest one is lifting a little at the edges and may get worse) and several fleabites (about 8) along the inside and outside of the top rim too.
These could be coloured in so as to be less noticeable - I prefer to leave that up to the new owner.

The good thing is, these little nibbles and flakes do make this vase more affordable!

The vase is 21 cm / 8.5" high, 10.5 cm / 4" across and weighing 1160g.

The figurine (nfs) is for scale and measures 8 cm / 3".

*** Please note, shipping costs are an estimate. If costs turn out to be significantly lower I will refund the excess.

*** I wrap carefully, and will refund you in the unlikely event of breakage or loss in transit.

*** Postage is 2nd class signed for in the UK or UPS. You can upgrade at checkout if you prefer.

*** International orders will be sent using a Track and Sign service or UPS.

** I always ship within a business day or two, but if you are in a particular hurry please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

*** I do accept returns, but due to high postage costs and the fragile nature of most of my items, only if the item was not as listed.
