'Green Flash' is one of Tom Morton's 'Ebb Shetland' pieces, made using mixed media, acrylic paint, pastel and objects found along the shore near his home in the Shetland Islands, between Scotland and Scandinavia.

It is mounted and framed in a white box frame measuring 25cm by 25cm and 5cm deep, with glass front.

Tom writes: "the 'green flash' is an optical effect which occurs occasionally at sunset as the sun dips below the horizon. Our favourite place to see this, or try to see it, is at Eshaness, by the lighthouse, a few miles from where we live in Shetland.

This piece was built up from acrylic paint with harvested sea-plastic, dried kelp and sea-glass and pastel. I'm very pleased with it."
