Description

An exquisite midcentury Japanese kimono made from a heavy silk crepe.

The delicate design shows Japanese acre (maple) to symbolise calm and peace and Sakurasou flowers which are a symbol or desire and long lasting love which would make this the perfect gift for a bride to wear on her wedding day.

The kimono is mostly lined in silk, but the outer boarder is a synthetic. I am not sure if this is original or a replacement border, my gut feels the later, but it could be wrong.

The kimono is in excellent condition. There are two small and fairly faint marks at the front (pictured).
There is an area of foxing around the neck on the patterned fabric (pictured)
There is some foxing to the silk lining and the border panel is a little grubby (pictured)
There are a few loose stitches in the lining which is tacked fairly loosely so that it is easy to remove for cleaning.

Please do ask if you require further photographs.

Measurements taken laid flat
24.5 inches pit to pit
59 inches shoulder to hem
Aprox 24 inches across the hips
