Speaking as a gardener, an artist and a lover of things with a past, these Noritake dishes are breathtaking. This listing is for a footed cup and saucer in the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady pattern of 1977.

Very good condition!

The cup is approx 3 inches high and 3 1/4 inches wide. (I have a total of 2 cups and 2 saucers) It has a picture of the fruit of crabapple and a branch. The saucer is approx 6 inches and says:
'Then came October, full of merry glee.'
Spenser

The cup and saucer have a maker mark on the bottom that reads:
The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady

Edith Holden 1906

Edith Holden was a British artist and teacher. In 1906 she kept a nature journal to inspire her students and for her own enjoyment. The journal contained watercolors of the plants and animals she saw, along with notes. The journal was found in the 1970s in an old country house and was published verbatim. The 1977 book became an immediate success and soon followed the Noritake dishes based on her journal.

What if her journal had never been found?? It has brought enjoyment to many people, including me.

I have other items from this same pattern! If you are interested in more than one listing, please convo me and I will determine an accurate shipping price based on weight and location. I don't like to charge more than it costs!
