“Japanese notebooks are pen friendly and there are so many types of paper. I want to get more knowledge about them.” This product was born from such a conversation with a friend abroad. Paper Tasting is a test writing pad to enjoy writing comfort. Like wine tasting, you can try various kinds of paper and find your favorite pen friendly paper. Also these products are packaged with paper description and paper classification table so that you can know more deeply about paper made in Japan. Just like hearing a lot of knowledge from wine sommelier.
We are planing to continue the series in the future and going to provide even deeper knowledge through it.
PAPER Paper tasting Translucent vol.1
B7 size : Glassine
A paper made from chemical pulp. By applying heat and high pressure, it gets the smoothness and density to produce its translucency. Because it has food safety, it is used as a package of medicine and food.
A6 size : Tracing Paper
A translucent paper that is made by processing finely beaten chemical pulp. As the name indicates it is used for tracing drawings, but is also used in lighting fixtures.
B6 : Kinshachi
In Japan, jumpaku-roll paper is most commonly used as wrapping paper. It is also used in 365 day calendars and small gift bags. It has a glossy surface and a scratchy back. This unique texture is very typical of paper made by the Yankee machine.

So many beautiful papers. They all look and feel wonderful. Have already been testing out the paper the invoice was printed on and it is fantastic for shading, so I cannot wait to try the pad properly. Very fast to arrive from Japan. Thank you!
