Description

These Limpet Shell and Cape May Diamond Dangle Earrings are made from the molding and casting of a real found Limpet shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty mollusk shell on a beach in Delray, Florida and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. Once the castings are returned, I solder on jump rings and basket setting for the beach pebbles with a stud post in the back. Finally they are cleaned up, oxidized if needed and hand polished with care. The small earrings are only 1" long and 1/4" wide, the large size is about 1.25" long and 1/2" wide. This design is currently available in solid sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, message me for custom options and a quote. All HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity. This item is usually always available, but you can place an order for an item that is 'out of stock' by requesting a customization, please allow 1 week to complete.

Cape May Diamonds are crystal clear quartz deposits found on the beaches of Cape May, NJ. Each stone has traveled all the way down the Delaware River on a journey to the sea that takes over a thousand years. I collect the stones myself and tumble them for 2 months to bring out their natural clarity and shine. While I do try to match the stones as best I can, each pebble is unique so please allow for slight variations in tone, size and shape. If you would like to choose your pair of stones, please send me a message as soon as you place your order, and I will send you options to choose from.

A small sized Cape May Diamond is used for the small earrings and a large is used for the large pair of earrings. If you would like a different size arrangement than what is offered, just request them in the customization portal.
Currently available in solid sterling silver, other materials are always welcome, message me for custom options and a quote. All HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity.

Packaging:
All HKM Jewelry will be neatly packaged in HKM branded boxes and 100% recycled shipping materials. There is also an option to include a personalized note!

Care:
All jewelry needs special care, even the “indestructible” kinds! My jewelry is meant to last for generations when proper steps are taken, but natural aging and wear can occur. Jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off each day, avoiding contact with makeup, lotions and sprays will prolong its finish. Keeping your polished silver in plastic is the best way to prevent tarnish when not being worn. Do not swim in chlorine or saltwater wearing your HKM Jewelry and it is not recommended to clean or wash dishes with chemicals that can breakdown the metal or stones. All Jewelry can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap and a toothbrush, a polishing cloth will restore shine and help with tarnish on your silver. Use ketchup to remove tarnish from items with stones, as the vinegar is more gentle on them than tarnish removing chemicals. Just cover your piece with ketchup, scrub with a toothbrush or your hands, then rinse and dry well. Do not use ketchup on Oxidized charms, as this will altar the finish.
