Description

Hand made in the UK this strap is made from the highest quality materials. The chestnut and burnt tan colour leather is vegetable tanned dyed through shoulder treated with waxes and oils to produce a beautiful oily or waxy "pull-up" distressed effect, which lightens in colour when folded or turned. This supple natural grain leather is left intact to show all the growth marks and unique character to give a distinctive antique look with a mellow feeling. This leather will relax a bit with use so may show some increase in length. The burgundy leather is vegetable tanned full grain beautifully aniline coloured and finished shoulder, showing some natural growth and character. It's dyed through and coloured both sides and has a warm, slightly waxy feel.

The rivets are solid copper and hand formed which goes well with the style of leather as well as being very strong. The rings are 15mm in diameter and made of stainless steel. It is also supplied with matching fixed protectors. The strap can be ordered in lengths from 36 to 46 inches in 2 inch increments. The shoulder pad is 9.5 inches (24cm) long and 1.5 inches (4cm) wide and is treated to give a soft suede-like finish on the underside for added grip and comfort. The strap is 10mm wide. All measurements are approximate.

This strap is available in Chestnut (main photos), Burnt Tan or Burgundy. The colour of the leather may vary slightly depending on the batch or the screen you are viewing it on, or even where on the hide the strap is cut from.

It fits most cameras that have a round style strap lug (Nikon, Pentax, Fuji)

FAQs

I can make straps to a particular length/width and with various ring sizes etc. Just follow the custom orders link.
All the leather I used is sourced in the UK. I don't use chrome tanned leather as I find vegatable tanned is better for camera straps as it softens with age. The leather is bovine with the occational bit of lambskin suede for padding.
Generally I make and despatch an order with a couple of days unless i'm very busy, in which case I will let you know.
I post all UK orders second class signed for. I have found this to be a reasonably priced and reliable service and usually takes 2-4 working days.

Orders to Europe are sent Royal Mail signed for which is also tracked for certain coutries. The delivery time varies depending on where it's going but generally it takes between 3-8 working days.

The USA varies tremendously! I send it Royal Mail tracked and signed but how long it takes can vary from a few days to two weeks and I've no idea why as it usually leaves the UK within a couple of days of posting.

If you want something in a hurry just let me know and I can give you a cost for using the appropriate postal service.
Leather is a natural product that will benefit from a bit of care.

Vegatable tanned leathers can be treated periodically with a good wax treatment which will keep the leather supple and free from cracking. This is especially important if it gets wet. If it does get wet don't dry it near a heat source as this will dry and crack the leather, let it dry at room temperature.

Leather will stretch a bit and take on a patina with age. Always check for cracks or splits and examine rivets and screws to check they are secure. Buy purchasing a strap you agree to to the condition that I cannot be liable for loss or damage of equipment whilst using the strap.
