"Fields of Green and Gold" is an original 24 x 30" oil painting on stretched canvas and is gallery-wrapped with the painting continuing on the canvas sides.
Having spent most of my life in Kentucky, I have seen vast fields of large green and gold plants and heard stories of this once king of cash crops. These fields are diminishing in number but not in beauty. There exists to this day a tradition of tobacco farming. Before that tradition is completely gone, I decided to paint what I remember of those fields of green and gold.
My style of painting is representational impressionism. I enjoy beginning with a recognizable subject and then embellish it as I would enjoy seeing it. Many times subjects do not need this embellishment but I may remove distracting objects, change colors, or add a stronger light source. I strive for feelings of peacefulness. When I paint a landscape or cityscape, I would like for people to imagine themselves in the painting, or to just sit back and enjoy it.
A certificate of authenticity (COA) will accompany the painting. It has been protected with gloss varnish and is ready to be framed.
The painting will be carefully packaged, insured, and shipped. If it is damaged in transit, please return in original packaging for insurance purposes, and I will provide a full refund.
Color may vary slightly due to monitor color calibrations. If you are not satisfied with your painting, please return it within seven days.
