Yeah, you read it right. Marilyn Monroe. I got the inspiration for this GORGEOUS choker from her. She was wearing a similar one in the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds" in the scene where she and Piggy were in her stateroom; and he said, "Come to my bashaw (sp?), and I'll give you my old coconut shells" in Swahili and had shown her how a python squeezes a goat to death. Piggy was the python. Lorelei (Marilyn Monroe) was the goat. HA! The scene is about 41 minutes into the movie if you care to see it — great scene, great outfit, incredible jewelry! So that's the deal. Of course, this choker isn't the exact one, but the basic design is. I made this, too, so that the pendant can be clipped on or taken off at your pleasure. I primarily used Czech crystals for this, but I also used beautiful hand-blown Venetian foiled glass beads and Swarovski crystal for the pendant; all in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and finishes. I love this choker best when it’s worn twisted. But it looks nice loose, too.

Marilyn’s necklace has two strands which measures 18”. As mentioned above the beads are a variety of sizes, from 5mm to 18mm, in a mix of complimenting colors and shapes. The pendant hangs 2.5” and is 15/16” wide x 1 ¼” long. All metal is good quality goldtone. I used strong flex wire as the base strand and finished it with thimble wire guards and an easy hook and loop clasp.

Thanks for looking.
