Hydrosol of Sacred White Sage (Salvia Apiana)

The white sage hydrosol I am offering is extremely fragrant and comes in a lovely four ounce aluminum bottle with a black fine mist sprayer and clear cap. White sage is an exalting shrub, well known for dispelling and cleansing away negative energy while bringing in positive.

I am very happy to be able to offer this Oregon grown White Sage hydrosol. This particular hydrosol is stronger than others I have encountered and requires a skin test before use.
When I use the white sage as a skin toner I have diluted mine in half with distilled water.
Distilled water can be bought at any local market in gallon jugs for about a dollar. As a liquid hydrosol, I find it indispensable as it can be used for everything from a room mister, a skin toner, water replacer for facial masks and cleansers to even seasoning soups!

Here is a brief explanation of what a hydrosol is via From Nature With Love:
"...A hydrosol is the pure, distillate water that remains after essential oils are steam distilled from the original plant material. Hydrosols are usually clear and have the appearance and consistency of water. Their aroma is generally, but not always, similar to that of the essential oil, but the aroma is usually much more subtle. Hydrosols contain small amounts of essential oil. They also contain water-soluble components of the plant material that may not be present in the essential oil. The aroma, therefore, may differ somewhat from the plant's essential oil. Some hydrosols do smell surprisingly different from the essential oil."

*Hydrosols have a limited shelf life and should be refrigerated. If you are going to take a hydrosol internally it is recommend it be pasteurized before use. Pasteurization can be achieved by bringing the amount needed to a very slow boil.*

General Applications for white sage hydrosol:
Ritual, smudging, dispersing negative energy (no smoke required!)
Facial Toner/Body Spray/Splash
In clay facials and cleansing scrubs
Room, Linen and Clothing Spray

Thank you very much for looking at my shop!

Vireo perfumes are 100% natural and there are no chemicals. I use organic fractionated coconut oil with vitamin e as my carrier oil for it's light feel and long shelf life. I produce all my perfumes in less than one ounce amounts. Some batches of perfumes will smell different because of growing seasons, methods of extractions and that some botanicals are rare and difficult to find. Essential oil perfumes, especially any containing citrus should be stored in a very cool dry place away from direct light.

About perfume notes and judging a perfume:
All natural perfumes will be unique on each wearer. They are not to be judged too quickly or straight from the bottle but applied to the skin. Most perfumes go through three stages called the top, middle and base notes.

Top notes are what you smell when you first apply or smell fragrance; generally they won’t last very long. An example of a top note is lemon.
The "heart" or middle note compounds the main body of a perfume. An example of a heart note is jasmine.
The base notes are fixatives to help hold the strength of the perfume and add depth. They take the longest time to evaporate. An example of a base note is would be patchouli.

If you are unsure if a perfume is right for you I would suggest trying a sample size first.
