Description

This Steampunk desk is the perfect place to bring the past (Oak and Iron) of the industrial revolution into the present (Computer Age) together.

As a maker, I strive for functional art that is as comfortable to use as it is unique. I was picking at a farm sale and found this 19th century school desk in 2015, and was instantly inspired. With [other materials] it is now, in 2017, converted to be used as a computer desk, going from a pen and paper artifact to a modern accompaniment to 21st 1century tech!

The shelf below the desk holds the processor with access from the front, and off the floor to negate dust exposure. The top is solid quarter-sawn oak with "Mission" stain, with a satin conversion varnish (waterproof) clear coat, is very durable. This work stands 31"h. x 49"w. x 27"d. The keyboard shelf measures 30 1/2" w. x 11 1/2"d.

Note that the display pieces on the desk and the chair are not included.

WORK # 003 has a brass plate attached, to authenticate it as an original piece.
