Description

This coffee table is truly one of a kind. I fabricated a custom steel frame to cradle a special piece of reclaimed mahogany from a ship. More about that below.

It stands 13.5" tall and has a 24"X36" 1/2" thick tempered glass top. I can sell and ship the table without the glass for less money (and less risk) if you want to buy your own glass in your own dimensions locally. This listing includes the glass. Contact me for options.

The 1895 Schooner "Ernestina" has traveled the world and has a storied history. In the 1940s -1970s it was docked in West Africa. The African shipwrights used local wood to make repairs at this time - including this piece of beautiful red mahogany

The Ernestina is currently under restoration in Maine where my friend Levi is a member of the crew. He managed to save some chunks of this beautiful wood. It's difficult to reclaim boards from these beams in a traditional sense as to the number of iron spikes and holes in it, so I decided to showcase its beauty as is.

I took the piece of wood "as is" and brought it back to beauty via rigorous sanding and shaping then treated it with linseed oil. It is as nice to touch as it is to look at.

there is a video documenting the process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0azDHgwOE4

Thanks for looking and be good,
Tim

paypal is preferred but i will accept personal checks and money orders, etc. i just won't ship your item until the check clears. i'm a huge fan of the barter system, too. if you see something you like and would like to trade, i may be totally down with the idea. never hurts to ask.

Returns & exchanges

i want everyone to be happy with their purchase. period. if you're not, i will take the item back (in the same condition you received it) within two weeks or so of receiving the item for a full refund of the purchase price, minus shipping and 7% of the item cost for a restocking fee.

Shipping policies

i don't like seeing my customers spend a ton of money on shipping (which can get expensive with some larger pieces of furniture) so i do the legwork and ship the least expensive way, always, unless you request differently. just convo me if you need it in a rush or whatever.

i'm also down for delivery within a 150 mile radius or so (i may need to charge you a few bucks for gas and tolls, depending how far you are) and you are more than welcome to come pick it up. just talk to me. i'm a pretty nice guy.

many items don't have shipping included in the listing because with larger items it varies greatly from zone to zone. you will have to pay shipping if you buy the item. convo me for a quote prior to purchase if the expense is a concern.

if shipping is already included in the listing and i do overcharge you for i will refund you the difference. i do inflate the shipping cost a little (when necessary) to cover packing materials.

Additional policies

i do custom orders, will wholesale items, i'm pretty open to lots of things - including things i haven't even thought of yet! bottom line:go ahead and ask, talk to me, convo me, whatever. and if you want a broader idea of what i do, look at some of my already sold items and check out www.timsway.net for even more info.

thanks for looking,
tim
