This is an antique Stanley No.22 (Type 4) Transitional Smoothing Plane circa. 1895. Ships to UK/USA/CAN/Europe.

It is a rare & sought-after collector's tool in excellent condition given that it's well over 100 years old.

It has no rust and all parts have been dry-brushed, cleaned and lightly oiled. The plane features a beechwood sole and a low mushroom-shaped knob. 90% of the japanning remains on the frog and sole plate.

The cutting iron is original with Stanley stamp and "92" patent date. There are no splits in either the beechwood sole or knob. The sole is stamped "Stanley Rule & Level Co. No.22" at the front end.

This plane could be used but is more likely to be treasured as a 'shelf-sitter'. Of course, it would make the ideal Christmas gift for the woodworker in your life!

Please carefully review all photos and read the full description before committing to your purchase.
