Description

This unique handmade nativity set is truly a one-of-a kind piece. It will become part of your much-loved Christmas decor year after year.

I make my small rustic nativity scenes from items found in nature. The stable is made out of wood scraps, tree bark, and moss but keep in mind I don't harm any trees🌲 in the process; my brother-in-law owns a saw mill, so my bark comes from his scrap pieces. The beeswax is either from our own hives or from other beekeepers in my area🐝.

*Note: Each nativity will look different depending on the pieces of bark that I use. However, the Nativity figurines will all look the same. Their placement may vary depending upon the size of the stable. Because the Nativity figurines are so tiny (ranges from the size of a penny to a quarter), I have elected to glue them down, but if you would prefer they not be glued, just let me know and I won't glue yours.

*The stable is roughly 7 inches wide, 4 inches tall, 3 inches deep. Remember, each one will be different depending on the bark pieces, but they all are small.
*The Nativity is made up of 7 beeswax figurines: Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, angel, donkey, sheep, and star.

I make the tiny figurines by hand pouring the melted beeswax into molds. I glue the wood and tree bark together into a simple shape of a stable, but leave both the front and back open so you can see it clearly and to allow you to light it from behind if you wish.

Saint Francis of Assisi is believed to have been the first person to create a Nativity. He did so in 1223 at Greccio, Italy. His desire was to help people keep the focus of Christmas on Christ's birth.

I hope you enjoy this Nativity for years to come!
