Description

COWS 'SIESTA' ART PRINT OF REALIST OIL PAINTING BY JURGEN WILMS, 8X10 INCHES, SOUTHWESTERN COWS RESTING UNDER TREE

SIESTA

Original Oil Painting by Jurgen Wilms

Jurgen was born in Germany near the border of France and became a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, 150 miles south of Frankfurt. He was always attracted to realism in art, and became frustrated with all the attention and focus on abstract art in the academy.

From 1974 on Jurgen spent the next ten years living in Sweden, Switzerland, England, France, Florence Italy, India and Thailand where he studied numerous philosophies including Hindu teachings. He spent time studying the art of Europe’s various major art museums, and painted scenes from old Indian scriptures (the Bhagavata Gita, Ramayana, and the Bhagavatam) for the Bhaktivendanta Book Trust. In 1982 he settled in San Francisco and began practicing landscape art off and on.

When he moved to Hawaii in 1992, Jurgen became a serious, full time painter. He showed at the Kohala Kollection Art Gallery on the big island, the White Garden Gallery in Holualoa Hawaii, and the Harbor Gallery in Kohala.

Jurgen has resided in a small mountain village north of Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1996. His art has been shown in numerous Galleries in Santa Fe and Taos NM as well as Hawaii.

Jurgens art was featured in the book "Landscapes of New Mexico, Paintings of the Land of Enchantment".

Jurgen was also featured in the Public Television special "Lanscapes Of Enchantment".

This listing is for 1 8x10 printed on acid free, matt fine art paper, Archival Inkjet Paper, 235gsm.
