This is an original illustration of St. Teresa of Avila, a Carmelite saint. She is known for works such as "Interior Castle" and is the patron saint of headache sufferers. She founded the Discalced Carmelites and she is also a Doctor of the Church!

This 6x8" illustration is handdrawn in pencil, inked with a nib pen and (waterproof) India ink, and coloring with Prismacolor markers. The paper is heavyweight bristol paper, suitable for framing. The quote on the book is taken from St. Teresa's traditional "bookmark" prayer.

- Note about colors: I try to match colors as closely as possible. Various screens display colors in differing ways, so please be aware that the actual colors may vary slightly from what you see on the screen.

Gorgeous work! I downloaded the Advent wreath craft to complete with my first grade class. What a beautiful way to celebrate this season with the children. Thank you for sharing your talents!
