We shape clay into a pot,
but it is the emptiness inside
that holds whatever we want.
— tao te ching: A New English Translation, Stephen Mitchell (trans), Harper & Row, 1988.

Now on sale, price reduced. Was $25.

This ceramic white porcelain dish is decorated using an antique textile printing block with floral, paisley and cresent moon images pressed into the soft clay. Layered in colored slips (noir black, coral pink and chartruese green) and carefully sanded away when dry to reveal the images. This is a Korean inlay technique. Glazed in a beautiful shiny clear.

Use it for a spoon rest, soap dish, trinket dish, for your teabag, for pads of butter, or just something pretty to look at. It is food safe, as well as microwave and dishwasher safe. All my slips and glazes are made from scratch in my Montana studio. Signed on the bottom.

Stamped with one of my favorite stamps, this tray Measures 5 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. Ready to ship. Please read my shop policies before making a purchase:

For more trinket dishes, see my shop section "for the bath" or "for the kitchen."
