All the Gritty Details:

This book is ONE OF A KIND so if you like it it, buy it before someone else does! These are one of my most popular types of journals and they don't last long.

I used to live in a tiny town next to the ocean on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, and I knew plenty of people who used nautical charts day to day wither in their scientific research or fishing work. These charts are frequently updated (and now mostly digital!) and so I have lots of fun creating things out of charts donated my way.

These particular charts are called "bathymetric charts" and they show underwater topography - the numbers represent how many feet deep the ocean is - so neat! I just love the variegated blues in this paper.

The book is a sturdy 4.5"x 6" with dense bookboard covers that won't warp even in the most humid of climates. It contains 160 pages of lovely 100% recycled 32lb paper - It's not a huge book, but it's nice and chunky.

The paper is so pretty and richly colored, and the hand-set silver grommets really tie everything together. The book is hand-sewn with a coptic stitch, a type of braided binding that I did with waxed Irish Linen thread, which is really strong. I take care to use long-lasting acid free and archival materials whenever possible so your book will last a long time.

I'm sure you have an ocean loving friend who would enjoy this journal - or maybe you'd like to just keep it for yourself?
