Description

Hello! I have been weaving since 1977, and create handwoven mug rugs, cloth strip rugs, runners, chenille handwoven rugs and floor textiles. In 1996, I developed several original styles that I continue to weave today. My focus has been on home decor. On occasion, I also weave sashes, shawls, and scarves.

Note on the Handwoven Colors: Photographed in different natural lighting conditions: from sunlight to lower lighting so you will get a sense of how the colors change in different lighting situations.

I believe you'll find this handwoven cloth strip runner useful for small tables, bookcases, end tables, and it's a nice centerpiece for larger tables too.

My handwoven cloth strip runner is designed in my original Appalachian Autumn style, but it looks great with summer Zinnias too! The runner measures 10 1/2" x 32" long x wide and has 3 1/2" fringe on either side (total length with fringe is 39"). The fringe features my double-knotted signature style. This weaving is woven using a strong and durable cotton/poly warp of a chestnut brown color that will last for many years and is color-fast. It's woven with hand-cut cloth strips, of cotton and rayon, in a historical traditional weaving pattern called hit-and-miss.

My Appalachian Autumn style is based on the fall season of Northeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Autumn, with its harvest vegetables (squash, corn, and pumpkin), and brilliant tree foliage (maple and oak), is a source for color combinations. Color harmonies in nature blend well with the home interior. Mix and match them with pottery, wood, and other home furnishings. My traditional rag style handwoven works well with Shabby Chic Cottage, and Rustic decor styles.

Each handwoven weaving is accompanied by a style label, care label, description label, and one of my brochures.

Care instructions for this handwoven are as follows:
Removing Dust and Debris:
-Shake lightly
-Vacuum
Cleaning
-Machine wash or handwash with cool water and mild detergent.
-Use cold water and colors will fade less
-Do not use bleach and use gentle cycle
-Wash separately or with similar items
-Line dry or dry flat
-Fluff in dryer on low
-Hand wash with cool water and mild detergent
