Description

September 2017's Patreon community project! Check out my Patreon at patreon.com/sailorzeo for current and past projects.

These strongly-scented soy wax melts are based on characters from Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate novels. This won the first community vote on my Patreon, and is the first of many upcoming fandom-themed products. There may be small spoilers for the books in the descriptions.

Alexia Tarabotti: The main character through the PP series, Alexia is often described as smelling like cinnamon and vanilla, scents she confesses to using in her hair wash. In a later book, she's presented with a piece of baklava, which the presenter says "THIS is what you smell like!" With that added information, Alexia's scent is a blend of cinnamon, vanilla, honey, and almonds. Even before the baklava comparison, I was planning to add almonds for her Italian heritage. The resultant scent is very sweet and dessert-like, which given her love for desserts and pudding courses, is also appropriate. Her color is a mauvey-pink, reminiscent of her fashionable Victorian attire.

Lord Conall Maccon: A 200-year-old Alpha werewolf, Lord Maccon is described as smelling of open fields. Not wanting to for just a plain "grassy" scent, I chose a scent blend with evergreen, moss, and vetiver, and blended in a little bay rum, a classic masculine scent often used in hair tonics and colognes, and would just be gaining popularity around the time of the books' settings. The result is a deep, layered scent that is very masculine in tone. His color is green, for the open fields and forests.

Professor Randolph Lyall: Woolsey Pack Beta, Lord Maccon's friend, and BUR agent, Professor Lyall is described in the sequel series as smelling of "sandalwood, linen, and lemon hair tonic." I substituted a cotton fragrance for linen, and blended cotton and sandalwood with a touch of lemon essential oil. It's a nice, clean scent, a little like fresh laundry. His color is a pale beige, as he's often described as tan and forgettable, to other's detriment.

Lord Akeldama: A rogue vampire in London, with a hive of dandy drones that form up an intelligence network possibly greater even than Queen Victoria's, Lord Akeldama is a good friend to Alexia and a gleeful annoyance to Lord Maccon. Lord Akeldama is one of the only vampires who can tolerate citrus: he built up a resistance to citrus oils so he could continue to use lemon to brighten his shining blond hair. His scent is described as "lemon, sweet lavender, and old blood." I left the "old blood" out of the mix, as I couldn't find a reliable coppery scent. Lemon and lavender make for another clean, crisp scent. His color is bright yellow, to reflect his hair.

(colors may have frosted since initial creation and photography; they should brighten up as the wax melts)

This isn't my first product I bought from Zeo's (it was the SM chapsticks I got my friends as stocking stuffers; said friends were also kind enough to buy me scented oils from here) and I've been in love since I first got them. The scents and flavor combinations are always uniquely intoxicating and I use them so every day. Not to mention, they feel so wonderful on my lips, rolling on smoothly and staying on for hours at a time. Simply wonderful! My mother also wants some of her own after I let her try one of mine, so I'm delighted to support a product and person I newly adore even more.

This has fast become one of my favourite blends to use. The Mercury lipbalm is creamy and delicious, reminiscent of peppermint tea and snow (I seriously want to eat it everytime I put it on), and would definitely recommend it for use in winter. Not too over-powering, and the peppermint also leaves a nice icy "tingle" afterwards...very shabon-spray!

The spearmint and lemon is a surprisingly delightful blend; super smooth, cool, with invigorating edge! I would highly recommend this blend for anyone looking for something a little less floral or sweet, as it's soft but refreshing <3!

One of my favorite characters from SM is Zoisite, so I had to get myself one of these!! It's so light, creamy and smooth and the cherry is subtle and not overpowering at all. And it literally has done wonders on my lips; I periodically re-apply during the day not only because I love the smell, but because the oil actually sinks into my lips, instead of "sitting on top". A much better buy than an $8 chapstick from Sephora!

(It's also a really great way to moisturize before adding on any matte lipstick!) Will definitely be purchasing again!
