.I'd like to use your Mother's or Grandmother's wedding gown to make your HEIRLOOM wedding garter.

The garter I show here is one I designed for a family friend. Her daughter is getting married and of course has picked out a stunning gown of her own. My friend and I decided to use part of My fiend's wedding gown to make a keepsake garter. Creating a new family heirloom.

I carefully removed some of the lovely appliques from my friend's gown an designed a lovely layered collage of the various lace flowers and leaves. I added a few Swarovski Crystals, in keeping with the Crystal accents on the bride's new modern gown, and her jewelry. I used Dupioni silk for the simple elegant band.

Your garter will be completely unique to you. I'll use lace, fabric, or design elements from whatever heirloom piece you send to me. I will show you sketches or simply explain what I intend to do before I take scissors to the garment.

I have also done this with lace from vintage slips, and hankies that belonged to the bride's grandmother.

Contact me if you have any questions.
