Description

“Michael, "I never expected the wish to come true."
The Trout, "Great Oceans! Why bother to wish it, then? I call that simply a waste of time.”
― P.L. Travers, Mary Poppins Opens the Door

Mary Poppins reappears just in time! According to her tape measure, Jane and Michael have grown "Worse and Worse" since she went away. But the children won't have time to be naughty with all that Mary has planned for them. A visit to Mr. Twigley’s music box-filled attic, an encounter with the Marble Boy, and a ride on Miss Calico’s enchanted candy canes are all part of an average day out with everyone's favourite nanny.

About

Originally published in 1943, third in the May Poppins books, this copy is from 1965. Illustrated with the originals by Mary Shepard. Printed by Collins. The original price on the inside of the dust jacket is 12s. 6d.

Condition

Good. The dust jacket has done its job, it does show signs of wear and tear with some slight tearing towards lower and upper spine but of course this is superficial as the book itself is still very good. There are a couple of small pencil numbers on the inside fly leaf that could easily be removed if you wished but the rest of the pages are clean and intact thanks to a still very good binding. Over 50 years old and Mary still looks good! Please take a look at the photographs and get in touch if you have any questions.
