Dahlia Dyed Merino Wool Batt

Description

This beautiful batt has been created using Merino wool dyed with Dahlia flowers and stems and then modified with a copper mordant

The dye has produced a wonderful fresh green. I feel the photo is a good representation but please bear in mind that screens do vary.

This batt weighs approximately 110g in total and is made in two pieces placed one on top of the other as my carder can only cope with so much at once.

The batt has been thoroughly rinsed but as it is a natural dye it is possible the colour will fade over time. As there are no modern colour fixers used with this natural dye there may be some colour bleeding so please be cautious when washing for the first time. This is just a precaution.

Gentle hand washing in cool water without too much agitation is the best way to preserve the colour and prevent felting.

Should you want to mix and match 100g using two 50g colourways please let me know and I will try to accommodate. I can usually offer white undyed wool as part of the mix too if you would like, just ask.
My mum does the dyeing in her kitchen where she has various concoctions of natural dye stuffs stewing, soaking and heating. Once it has been dyed, rinsed and dried we card it twice on my Classic Carder transforming it into the most wonderful fluffy batt.

If you would like additional items I will be happy to quote you a postage price, I will refund postage overpaid less the packaging costs.
If you are overseas and wish to buy please contact me for a postal price.
We really want you to be happy with your item but if for any reason you should be disappointed please contact me so we can resolve any issues.

FAQs

If you would like a gradient batt creating from a batt you have found in the shop please convo me and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
I weigh all the batts and yarn on my kitchen scales to be as accurate as possible as to how much they weigh. Wool usually carries a + or - of 5% as it is highly absorbent and can soak up atmospheric moisture.
