This is Saint Andrew, Saint Peter's brother and one of Jesus's apostles. He was the first called. And though he wasn't renamed and had God's church built on him, he didn't let it come between he and Peter at the family Thanksgiving get together. In fact, he gave Peter a pink belly just to remind him he was still his big brother.
He was crucified on the "X" shaped cross called the Saltire, which I now know the name of because our youth group recently changed their name to Saltire .

He's also the patron saint of Scotland. Their flag will make a lot more sense to you now. You're welcome.

His feast day is November 30.

This is my first time actually celebrating Advent properly minus the secularism (I'm a work in progress), and wanted something memorable. Well God must grant wishes too because everything I received today will be memorable for years to come. I purchased both the Advent candles set and Byzantine Mary and Joseph. If you read my other review on the amazing Advent candles set (you won't be disappointed), then you know to go ahead and buy them; they are that awesome. I look forward to buying from ADH in the coming year. Also, these would make a great gift.

This is the first time I'm actually celebrating Advent, so wanted something kinda memorable. I was going for the "Made in China" battery operated candles, and wreath from Amazon, but decided it would be better to support someone who is creative and actually celebrates the holiday as I am winging it. I ordered these candles kinda late for the season (Nov. 19th), but arrived a few days into Advent (12/01), and was happy with how quickly they, and awesomely they were made. I struggled for two weeks (no lie) to decide on what to buy, then stumbled (maybe God pushed me?) upon these. I have absolutely no regrets. I was sold when I saw store front with the Byzantine Mary (Side A: Pregnant Mary; Side B: Mary holding Baby Jesus), and St. Joseph, of course. I bought the set and just put it up...minus a wreath. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I love these Rosary mysteries cards!! And the book that cane with it was a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures and for the good laughs! It is a refreshing approach to meditating on the Mysteries. Highly recommend!

I too grew up with icons all gold and I never liked the style, believing as I do that neither would Christ. Dorothy Day, my hero, certainly would not. So I adore your simple creations.
