Description

Drawn from mid-century fabric and wall-paper designs, these cards say "Ciao, baby" in cheerful sea foam blues.

Wiki entry for "Googie"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googie_architecture

This set includes two unique, handcut art cards each featuring a monochromatic, five-layered papercut celebrating the Googie or Populuxe style. In each set, one card is layered dark to light, and the other is layered light to dark. Because of the layers of graduated colored cardstock, these cards feel solid in your hand, but should go through the mail with a single standard stamp.

Each card measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches (11 x 14 cm) and is completely blank inside as is so that they may be given for any occasion.

I package two cards and two crisp, white envelopes into a clear bag. This set makes a great gift and would even look great framed.

Please note that the cards you purchase are handmade and will vary slightly from the photos of the original listing here.

As with most Crafterall pieces, this can be ordered in multiples upon request. Contact me with your ideas!

Even though these cards are made in mod sea foam, the paper I used to make them is pretty “Green.” Read more about it my Shop Policies: http://www.etsy.com/shop_policy.php?user_id=5373376

I ordered Chesapeake Bay with some customization (text printed on the top layer; add-on heart location marker). Marnie was fantastic throughout the whole process....she was VERY quick to respond, showed me six different options for fonts, and adjusted her mockups as I narrowed it down/requested minor tweaks. Once I gave the final OK, she created and shipped SO quickly. I was on the fence about whether to use a location marker, and she offered to send it separately as a sticker so I could decide once I've seen the whole thing in person, which was such a nice touch. When it arrived, it was packaged nicely and protected well -- and she had actually included 3 different sizes of the location marker so that I had options.

This is a wedding gift for one of my best friends, and I'm SO EXCITED about it. Thanks, Marnie!!

Getting mail that isn't junk or bills is such a treat. It's one of the reasons I make my own cards. I package purchased items as safely and nicely as I can without charging an arm and a leg. Whenever possible I use recycled materials and reuse bubble wrap and tissue from the many purchases I make on Etsy.

I ship through USPS using First Class mail, and I try to send your package within 24 hours of your cleared payment. If you would like an upgrade to Priority Mail or would like to purchase insurance for your item, contact me and I will prepare an adjusted invoice. I work to provide safe and fairly priced shipping options. If the shipping cost is much less than billed, I will gladly refund the additional amount through PayPal. International buyers are responsible for all fees and taxes associated with items crossing borders.

Please make sure your shipping address is correct. If not, please clarify the address to which you prefer me to send your purchased item. If a package comes back to me due to an error on your part (inaccurate address, etc), I will send you an additional invoice via paypal to cover cost of re-shipment.

Live in the western Hennepin county area (Excelsior, Minnetonka, Wayzata, Chanhassen, etc.)? Feel free to contact me for a local pick-up and save yourself a few bucks.

F.A.Q.s:

http://www.crafterall.com/search/node/FAQ

Q. Where can I see your work in person?

A. Several awesome shops around the county carry Crafterall works. You can see the whole list on my website: www.crafterall.com/shop

Local Twin Cities folks can also usually find me at the No-Coast Craft-O-Rama Holiday show on the first Friday and Saturday in December each year.

Finally, you can schedule to visit me at my home in Shorewood. If you contact me ahead of time, I'd be happy to show you some color options or design options so that you can make the best decision.

Q. Can you send color swatches before I order something?

A. Picking a color can be really hard. I'd be happy to mail you some small color swatches. I ask only that you purchase a piece first and request the swatches in your order. Then, after you've received the swatches and selected a color, I'll make your piece and send it to you in the color you've chosen.

Q. I saw a piece on your blog that's not listed in your Etsy shop. Can I request it anyway?

A. In most cases, I'd be delighted to recreate a custom piece for you. Just contact me the details, and we'll go from there. Rarely, I make a piece that I either cannot or will not remake. But it never hurts to ask.

Q. Do you accept requests for custom orders?

A. Yes! I relish the opportunity to create a custom Crafterall handmade work for you. We can work off of an existing piece from my shop or create something entirely new. Please contact me to share your ideas and goals for a new project.

Q. Will you consider wholesale inquiries?

A. Yes! Large, bulk, and wholesale inquiries are most welcome. Please contact me with your interest.

Q. These pieces seem thicker than a photography or a poster. Can they still be framed in a store-bought frame?

A. You bet. They are a little thicker than a photo print, but not by much. I recommend framing most pieces with a mat and frame combo. Frames built for mats usually have a little extra room, and the mat really enhances the sense of depth in the pieces.

Q. Do you sell your work framed?

A. No. I leave that to the capable and creative hands of the professionals. If you ask, I'd be happy to recommend some local folks who do good work.

Q. What's the best way to contact you?

A. You may either send me a convo via Etsy or e-mail directly at Marnie.Karger [!at] gmail.com. I tend to check my e-mail many times a day and work to reply to your messages as soon as I can.

Q. Do you like marshmallows?

A. Yes! Raw, melty, burned, store-bought, homemade, flavored, plain, fresh, crusty: yum. (Circus peanuts do not count as marshmallows. Those are icky.)

Q. Do you ever have any sales?

A. Occasionally, but, if you've read this far, I want to thank you. To show my appreciation, use the coupon code "ISURVIVED" when you check out, and you will receive 10% off your purchase. Good on you! (Please use this code only once.)
