"The Dollhouse" is an original photographic construction by Nicolas Hall. We are offering a gorgeous 8" x 10" fine art reproduction. This is print number 12 of 100

^NOTE* Watermarks will NOT appear in the print you receive!

This is the title print of a forthcoming handmade art book of the same name. The text accompanying the images speaks of the way people often treat each other as items to be acquired. Almost as "dolls". At first with the enamored adoration of something so new and exciting then, eventually, with the disregard and neglect of an old toy one has become bored with.

The image is reproduced using archival-quality pigment ink and is printed on a matte, acid free, 100% cotton rag paper coated with a protective spray that increases resistance to water, scratches and ultra-violet light.

The print is signed, dated and numbered on the back. It will be shipped to you in a resealable cellophane sleeve, that you can use to store the image safely until you are ready to frame it.

Free First-Class shipping in the US.

This print is available in sizes up to 17" x 22" Convo us for pricing and details.

About this Image:

I am inspired to create images that reflect what I see around me as well as inside of myself. "The Dollhouse" is a series of images about human neglect. It's about our unique tendency to tire of something and to discard it for the new trend or the more exciting option.

This is a very disposable society we live in. We tire of places, things, jobs, clothing and comforts so easily.

It is no wonder that this also seeps into our interpersonal relationships and I am generally horrified by the way people treat something or someone with so much care and adoration when it is new. Then, as time moves on, the maintenance and care of those relationships falls off drastically. People lose interest. People want easy and dazzling with no effort. People resent the work they may have to do.

So, I wanted to create a series that shows the stages of that loss of interest and the effect on the object we once loved. The doll is, of course, representative of sooooooo much. I do not think I need to spell it out beyond that. .

The Dollhouse (verse one)

I am not just another plaything
I am special

I am more than just your sometimes friend
I am the one you've selected
The one you had to have
The one you adore
I am special

You turn me in such a way
Place me just so
Surround me with this beauty
You take care to keep me safe and warm
I know that you love me
I feel that I am always
Going to be
Special
