This EXCLUSIVE kit was constructed so that everything you need to begin creating Viking Knit is all in one place. There are many sites on the internet with “free” instructions for Viking Knit – but you get what you pay for. Having struggled with several sets of these “instructions” before I had my “ah ha” moment, I knew there was room for one more tutorial. Other kits exist, with other methods of working this ancient technique, but we believe that ours is the easiest to follow, with very basic, easy to use tools thus avoiding over complication of something that is really very simple.

Contents:
1. Spool of 24g Permanently Colored Copper Wire
2. 24g “scrap” Copper Wire – 1 yard
3. Vanilla Bead’s Exclusive Viking Knit Mandrels
· 9.5mm - Blue
· 8mm - Red
· 6mm – Yellow
4. Wood Drawplate
5. Shish Kabob Skewer (knit poker)
6. Colorful Carrying Case
7. Vanilla Bead’s Fully Illustrated (49 pix, 25 pgs)
“Technique Tutorial: Viking Knit” plus bonus: "Bracelet
Addendum" (delivered by e-mail in Adobe PDF format)

As you can clearly see, our kit comes with mandrels that are pre-cut to the proper length. You can use knitting needles, a pencil, even an Allen wrench (why you would want to, I don’t know…) The aim of Vanilla Bead’s kit is to save you the aggravation of figuring it all out, so you can spend your time knitting right from the start!

· 9.5mm – Blue Dot Mandrel - Works well with 24g wire and
draws down to just about double what you knit.
· 8mm – Red Dot Mandrel – Works with 24g or 26g wire and
draws down to double (or more if you use 26g and
pull it down really small)
· 6mm – Yellow Dot Mandrel – Works with 26g and 28g wire
and can result in a really delicate chain.

The method taught in our tutorial is the “5 loop method.” It’s a great way to learn, but not the only way to knit. Feel free to experiment with 6 loops, 7 loops, 4 loops, whatever you like. These instructions are intended to teach you the basic Viking Knit technique. What you make with your Viking Knit is up to you!

NOTE: The tutorial will be sent in Adobe PDF format via e-mail, the rest of the kit will come by mail. Please indicate which carrying bag you prefer: Cherries, Flowers, Blue Skull and Crossbones or Black & Silver Skull and Crossbones.
