Ear wires are made of Niobium. Niobium (Nb) is a soft grey ductile metallic element, also known as columbium that can be coloured with currents of electricity. Along with titanium, tantalum, zirconium, pure refined gold, and platinum it is one of the six most bio-compatible elements.

Even people with severe metal allergies can usually wear niobium.

Interlacing or knotwork is probably the motif most commonly associated with Celtic art, though in fact the Celts did not start doing it until well into the Christian period (around 7th c AD) and probably learned it from marauding Vikings.

Now-a-days there are many meanings associated with specific knots, but these are most often modern interpretations. The monks who crafted knotwork in the Middle Ages did it for the greater glory of God, and for no other reason.

Interlacing is found in many different cultures, though not to the same extent and was borrowed by the Celts. When the Celts borrowed an idea from another tradition they always added their own unique character and made it their own. It can be traced back to ancient Egypt, where, in the long form, it was a stylization of running water. In a circle it could indicate a well.

The colours that are available immediately are pictured. They can be at your door in 5-7 days! Other colours are available but will take a few more days to finish.
