About This Image:

I have said it many times but there is always something that draws my creative interest in the power of the ocean. The waves washing over the world and the energy they bring and move. Sometimes there is a fury to it and sometimes it is as gentle and comforting as a mother to a small child.

With this image I wanted to convey that "swallowing" ability of the ocean. The way it dwarfs a person, even with our myriad of problems and damages. . . we are so small in it's presence.

In this case, the figure is either gathering dreams or releasing the ones that she is letting go of and those that are outdated. Either way, the statement is the same. The magic of the water, the tides working and churning up in their never ending dance while we are just a small fraction of that motion in time.

We should always,
Dream big
Dream deep
Then just live them
While we can...

The Dream Gatherer

Didn't you see them?
Strung along the horizon
Silhouettes under the clouds
Dreams that never flew high enough
To risk a fall
All these years
How I kept them here
Safe within an old, wooden box
Their voices, too numerous to ask silence
Then I could no longer hear my own heart beat
And I had to, finally, let them go
