Description

This is one of three new button bracelets I just made. I wanted to add other colors beyond those available in bakelite (catalin). I especially wanted to add blues and turquoise. I love the results and hope that you will too.

This is bracelet #1. The colors included are red, butterscotch, black, greens, blues, teal, orange and yellow. It is a very cheerful bracelet.

I have changed the wrap system on this and the other two. Now there are 2 slender tails that alternately wrap around the buttons. When I put it on, I wrap the red tail around the first button on one side and the green tail on the opposite side of the button. Then cross the two tails and repeat this same process until the tails run out. This "locks" the buttons in place. You can also leave enough tail at the end to tie a half knot, if you wish. The tails also allows some adjustment of size. Fully extended, the ball buttons on the end of the tails catch in the braided loop.

Drawn up, button butting button on the end, the bracelet fits a 6 & 1/2" wrist very comfortably. The tails on this one are 4" long. If drawn all the way out, it would fit a 9 & 1/2" wrist. The bracelet is 1" at it's widest point - the cocktail shaker is 1" tall.

My pictures are a large part of my description. A picture, they say, is worth a thousand words. Please view them all so you know what you are considering. The last picture shows the 3 different bracelets I created over the weekend.

I don't have an unlimited number of buttons that allow me to make these bracelets. This one has 23 buttons. I think the blue cocktail shaker is the only one of that button that I have. If you like this one, please don't wait to purchase, because I can't make another one just like it after it sells.

This would make a lovely holiday gift for anyone you know who loves bakelite and other colorful plastic buttons. Or treat yourself and add it to your jewelry wardrobe.
