Description

Sorry, we could not translate this listing to English.
Dimensions: Diameter 11 cm, height 11 cm.

Materials used: white-refractory clay; Kaolin, silica, enamel.

Color: Black and white.

Executive technique: The artifact presented is made entirely by hand and cared for in every detail.
The Naked Raku technique:
At the first stage of modeling follows a first firing at 950 °c to obtain what is commonly referred to as biscuit, the surface of the object is compact but still porous.
A protective barrier (a mixture of kaolin and silica) on which a glaze is applied is applied to the biscuit (the protective barrier prevents the enamel from adhering to the biscuit);
A second cooking process is carried out in a gas oven until the temperature of 850 °c is reached.
Reached this temperature and maintained for a few minutes the piece is extracted still incandescent from the oven the transition from the furnace temperature to that environment causes the enamel of small cracks (cavillats/craquelè);
The workpiece is immediately placed in a cassette containing sawdust or other material suitable to produce smoke; The smoke penetrates into the quibbles, produced by the sudden passage of temperature, and penetrates in a stable way in the piece producing lattices and dots from the interesting expressive character
The piece is then "peeled" (like a boiled egg) to remove the barrier and enamel (hence the designation "Raku nude") and then washed in a delicate way.
This particular process makes sure that each piece is born unique and unrepeatable.

Warning: The porosity of the material makes the object unfit for food use.

Maintenance: The only delicate hand wash is recommended. Do not use abrasives, dishwashers or microwaves.

Shipment: The artifact is shipped in hard cardboard boxes, wrapped with wrap and styrofoam. The shipment is traceable and the code thereof will be communicated promptly.
