Who wouldn't want this adorable, egg-laying, venomous, duck-billed, beaver-tailed, otter-footed mammal adorning their neck?

The Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is a semi-aquatic mammal endemic to eastern Australia, including Tasmania. Together with the four species of echidna, it is one of the five species of monotremes, the only mammals that lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young.

I carved this Platypus out of wax, had a mold made of my original; and this Platypus was cast from my original design and mold.

Cast into Sterling Silver and has a bail soldered onto the back, it will hang gracefully from your neck. The back is hollowed out to lighten it up, but it's still made up of a lot of sterling silver. This little guy is not so little for a pendent, he's actually quite substantial. From bill to tail he measures 1+3/4" and his leg span is almost one inch wide.

This will come in a recycled craft paper box and come ready to wear on a magnetic clasp corded necklace. Free gift wrapping available upon request.

This item was made in New York City.
