Description

Stunning Art Deco silver, onyx and paste brooch. The black onyx is a praised element of the jewelry created by the jewelers during the Art Deco Era. Favorite element in many jewelry pieces created in 1920s and 1930s.

Onyx is the birthstone for Leos and the anniversary gemstone for the 7th year of marriage. Onyx is a variety of the microcrystalline quartz, called chalcedony. The name “chalcedony” comes from Calcedon, an ancient port on the Sea of Marmara in Asia Minor.

Measurements:
length 5cm (1,96")
height 2cm (0,78")

Hallmarks:
marked with maker mark and two more marks that are not clear.

The brooch is in very good vintage condition.
