I loved making this pattern. I've been quilting for about two years, and this is my best quilt yet. The instructions were quite specific, and I had no trouble understanding them. There was one wrinkle: I prefer to quilt-as-you-go rather than making the top and then quilting the entire sandwich. The pattern wasn't written for QAYG, but I was able to figure out how to quilt each block and then add sashing as I put the rows together. I was concerned that the sashing would detract from the overall ocean look, but I don't think it does. My cousin absolutely loves his new quilt. He sent me a video of the unboxing. It was so fun to see his surprise and pleasure, I watched it four times.

Attempting to make this quilt for a baby boy shower. On a strict timeline and may embroider the sailboat instead of piece together.
