CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee. Beautiful city on the Tennessee River, nestled among the Appalachian Mountains. The city grid lies at the center of the map-drawing, with Walden's Ridge to the north, Missionary Ridge hemming in on the east, Lookout Mountain in the southwest corner and Raccoon Mountain tying down the northwest corner. The comeback city is one of the "greenest" in the U.S. fifty years after being called "the dirtiest city in America" by Walter Cronkite, spurred by citizens who love their city and its beautiful river landscape.
