Description

I am usually inspired by the sea and this necklace reminds me of the waves of the ocean, but in a gentle way. It is so delicate that it looks like lace, so when my friend came up with the name "Sea Lace" I realized it described it perfectly.

A delicate beaded necklace knit with a unique yarn that combines either wool or silk with stainless steel.
Short rows create a ruffle or spiral as you knit with this yarn. The stainless steel in the yarn gives body to this very thin yarn. You can choose to use beads anywhere from size 11 to size 6, each size creating a different effect. It is not difficult to knit except for working with small needles and very thin yarn. The pattern is easy to follow so I would say an advanced beginner could knit the necklace.
Experience with stringing beads and knitting with beads is helpful.

Sizes: The sample necklaces are both about 16” long. Of course you can make any length you want.

Size 0 needles are used, but remember it is a small project so it does goes quickly.

The pattern includes color photos of the finished project, easy to follow directions, a list of abbreviations and a stitch glossary explaining the techniques used in the project.

I know a lot of you are sitting home with Habu silk stainless steel or Lion Brand Wool Stainless Steel in your stash wondering what to do with it. But for those of you who aren't, I have listed the sources for the yarn on the pattern.

It will be sent to you as an attachment to an email, please verify your email address.

A kit is now available on Etsy with many color choices. If you buy the kit a free pattern is included.
