Material

Gemstone: Pearl

Dimensions

Necklace length: 80 Centimeters

Natural coloured long pearl necklace made of baroque Edison pearls in old pink lavender mauve shades, total length about 80 cm, without clasp. Some purple amethyst nuggets are scattered as gemstones in between.

The Edison pearls have only been bred in China since about 2009 and were created by crossing the Japanese pearl mussel "Hyriopsis Schlegeli" with the Chinese pearl mussel "Hyriopsis Cumungi". The result are large pearls whose luster and colors are not comparable with anything previous, delicate pastel colors with natural gold-bronze-metallic coating with soft natural luster.
Like Kasumi pearls (in Japan), these Baroque pearls are grown from fresh water in China with or without a core, in the ideal form they are round, the less successful are called Flameball or Fireball because of their shapes. Also in the surface there are differences, which lead to the fact that the beads cost a fortune in perfect form and flawless surface, while the beautiful but slightly defective beads come at affordable prices on the market. The necklace shown here has beads in bizarre shapes, the photos are not embellished, they clearly show the wonderful color and interesting shape, but they also have slight flaws in the surface.

The chain is completely single knotted.
