Description

Orion is my personal rendition of Lance's mobile suit from the Lego Nexo Knights series. Now, most recently I've been drawing a lot of inspiration from the Mobile suit Gundam series for my mechs. In this case, I brought some elements from the Gundam, Barbatos. I felt that combining the two felt like a natural fit. Lance's main weapon is obviously a lance, the same as Barbatos, but Barbatos's lance is much shorter and heavier. One element I absolutely had to bring was that Barbatos has an extendable tail that can go quite far. I did bring that feature, and as you can see in the pictures above, it can go quite far. Nine links to be exact, but you can get some really cool poses with it. one other feature I brought over from Barbatos was the underarm mounted cannons. I tried many designs to make them flip open like they do in the show, but sadly with the small amount of space I had to work with I was finally able to get it to work, but it was absolutely hideous. So I went back to my original plan of just mounting it under the arms, and to fire the cannons you just have to flip up the wrist. A total of six shots can be fired, three per side. One shot can be stored in the cannons at all times, and to more are store in the rear parts of the shoulder pads for extra storage. As far as looks go, I went with a new custom armor design. I was originally going to use the design from my Knightmare Mobile Suit, but I landed up scrapping the idea. Overall, I'm very pleased with the new look, because given its abilities, I wanted Orion to be a extremely fast mobile suit that can quickly pounce on its opponents. I know that such a fighting style is not particular to Lance's personality, but that's one reason why I'm making these mechs. I like to put my own spin on the characters.

It shipped on tie, has great playability. It was sturdily built. A very good model.
